Description
Alloy cable is also known as aluminum alloy power cable. It is processed by special compression craft and annealing treatment. It takes AA-8000 series aluminum alloy materials as conductors, which greatly improves its electric conductivity and high thermal resistance and solves electrochemical corrosion and creep deformation problem. Besides, aluminum alloy power cable features higher conductivity, bending property, creep resistance performance and corrosion resistance performance. Aluminum alloy conductivity is 61.8% of IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard). And its carrying capacity is 79% of coppers. Compared with coppers of the same volume, aluminum alloy is lighter (one third of the copper). With the same conductivity and weight, aluminum alloy power cable is two times as long as copper cable. Thus, with the same current carrying capacity, aluminum alloy cable is half as heavy as copper cable. Therefore, adopting aluminum alloy power cable instead of copper cable can reduce cable weight, installation cost and the abrasion of equipment and cable. With the same electrical performance, aluminum alloy cable is half as heavy as copper one. And its cross section is 1.1 to 1.25 times as large as that of copper wire cable. And its price is 30% to 50% lower than traditional copper wire.

3. Thermal Expansion Coefficient
Thermal expansion coefficient is used to calculate size changes when the material is under changed temperature condition. The coefficient of aluminum alloy almost equals to that of coppers. Correspondent measures like lubricating oil, anti-oxygen and protective coating can be used to keep metals from corrosion. Some alkaline soil and acid oil environment have larger corrosion on aluminum, so aluminum alloy cables should adopt insulation layer or mould pressing sheath if they are laid directly under such soils. In sulfurated environment like railway tunnel and other similar places, the corrosion resistance performance of aluminum alloy is much higher than that of coppers.
7. Flexibility
Aluminum alloy features good bending property. With special alloy formula and processing craft, the flexibility is greatly improved. The flexibility of aluminum alloy is 30% higher than that of copper. The rebound performance is 40% lower than that of copper. Generally speaking, the bending radius is 10 to 20 times long as outer diameter; while the bending radius of aluminum alloy power cable is only seven times long as outer diameter, which makes it easy to realize terminal connection.
8. Armored Features
According to United States standard, we have developed metal chain armored cable which adopts aluminum alloy with chain armor. The chain structure between layers ensures that aluminum alloy power cables can withstand the strong destructive force. Even suffering great pressure and impact, aluminum alloy cables are not easy to be broken down. Thus, aluminum alloy power cables are characterized by high safety performance. At the same time, the armor structure makes such cables isolated from the outside world. Even in a fire hazard, the armor layer can improve flame retardant and refractory level, thus reduces fire danger coefficient. Aluminum alloy with armor is characterized by light weight and convenient installation. Such aluminum alloy power cables need no bridge installation, so 20% to 40% installation expense can be saved.
9. Compression Properties
We adopt extraordinary compression techniques. Thus, the compression coefficient can reach 0.93 and the coefficient of special cables can reach 0.95. Maximum compression can make up for insufficient bulk conductivity, leading to lowered wire cable diameters and improved conductivity. Under the same carrying capacity condition, the outer diameter is 10% larger that that of copper cables.
